Calling anyone who wants to get out and breathe in that crisp fall air! Don’t miss out on all of the entertaining and vibrant fall activities that Ottawa has to offer. Ranging in price, length, and theme, there is guaranteed to be something for you (and your entire family) to enjoy.

Hiking Gatineau Park

If you’re looking for accessible trails where you can explore nature in the region, Gatineau Park is the place to go. Pick from one of the many trails including Pink Lake, King Mountain Trail, Huron Trail, and many others. The trails vary in difficulty and length but all offer a scenic view of the changing fall colours and breathtaking landscapes. Hiking the trails is the perfect low budget activity – all you need are a good pair of shoes, a bottle of water and a camera for some outdoorsy pictures.

Saunders Farm

Experience one of Ottawa’s most beloved autumn attractions at Saunders Farm. Although the farm offers year-round programs, it is best known for its Halloween activities and harvest festival. Enjoy mazes, live shows, hayrides, parades, play structures, pumpkin patches, and the unique Haunting Season and Fright Fest (featuring Ottawa’s original Haunted Hayride).

Apple Picking

Fall in Ottawa brings with it cozy sweaters, beautiful scenery and an abundance of farm fresh apples! From farm-to-table, pick your own apples for your favourite fall desserts at one of the many apple orchards in and around Ottawa. Some of these include Cannamore Orchards, Ferme Dagenais, Hall’s Apple Market, Pine Hill Orchard, and Strathmore Orchard and Winery. Get the most of your apple picking experience by bringing bags and a comfortable pair of shoes, and calling ahead to confirm the crop conditions.

Pumpkinferno

Check out the award-winning pumpkin-carved displays set out around Upper-Canada Village this fall! The outdoor installation features thousands of hand-carved pumpkin arrangements laid out along the charming 19th-century backdrop. Perfect for families, this all-ages event is sure to leave you mesmerized and inspired for your at-home pumpkin carving.

Ottawa Wine and Food Festival

Calling all adults! There’s an event in Ottawa this fall that’s just for you! For one weekend, the EY Centre hosts food, wine, beer and spirit vendors from around the world. The largest Wine and Food Festival in Eastern Canada, this event offers incredible samples and will let you indulge in your favourite goodies.

Face fall head-on with all of the wonderful activities that Ottawa has to offer! Don’t forget to have hot chocolate or apple cider waiting at your apartment to warm you up after a long day outside.
