With the beginning of each new year, we’re often motivated to make positive changes in our lives. But, we all know once spring rolls around, it becomes easier to forget the goals we set.

We get it, we’ve been there!

Here are a few tips on how to stick with your New Year’s resolutions all year long.

If you made cleaning/organizational goals

We know cleaning sucks sometimes… Okay, all the time. This is a hard one to stick to.

Although, if you commit to a few simple organizational rules to follow, your apartment will always be looking neat and tidy.

For example, try the clean as you go rule. This could be anything from doing the dirty dishes while the rest of your dinner is in the oven, or fold your clean bedsheets while your towels are still drying rather than doing everything at once. Multitasking can save you time— leaving you cleaning less, and relaxing more.

If you’re not the “clean as you go” type, try to clean a little bit every day.

Rather than spending every Sunday doing chores in your apartment, pick one task to take care of every day. If you hate cleaning, put Netflix on in the background to make it feel less like a chore.

Bonus Tip: Making your bed daily is another fast and simple way to make your living space look more put together.

If you made heath related goals:

Healthy lifestyle goals are common in January, but are often the hardest to keep up with.

If you’re still striving to live a healthier life, try stocking your apartment with frozen and canned vegetables. Having healthy options right in your apartment makes it easier to stay on track instead of giving into that last-minute McDonald’s craving.

Bonus Tip: Try making prepackaged smoothies for yourself to help stay healthy on the go! Toss your choice of greens, fruits and protein powder in a Ziploc bag and keep it in the freezer until you need it. Just add milk or water and you’re all set.

If you made money saving goals:

We know how easy it is for expenses to add up—especially with monthly rent, bills and other expenses.

Here are a few ideas that may help your savings grow. Making yourself a separate savings account or even keeping a traditional piggy bank can be a great start. If you’re a more visual person, try writing out a goal and tracking your savings.

Bonus Tip: Stay in! Instead of going out to eat, to the coffee shop or any other activities, spend some nights and weekends in your apartment. Then put the money you would have spent on going out into your savings!

Whatever your New Year’s resolutions were this year, these tips can help keep you and your apartment on track all year long!
